Word Count: 700
Summary:
“Yoo! Little Listener!” Too late. Yamada-sensei was already back, offering his fist to Midoriya in what was the start of an extremely elaborate greeting.
Hitoshi narrowed his eyes in confusion. When would they have had the time to practice this-?
“Hi, uh… Yamada-sensei!” Midoriya greeted, though it sounded uncertain. There was no way he had forgotten their teacher’s name. What was up with that?
“Ah, ah, ah,” Yamada-sensei waged his finger. “What did we say about forms of address when off the clock?”
Midoriya blushed slightly. “Sorry, Uncle Zashi!” He corrected himself, and Hitoshi’s brain stopped working.

Title: a glimpse back
Author: Emily_Elizabeth_Fowl
Pairing: None
Rating: General Audiences
Word Count: 800
Summary:
Shouta pauses, his capture weapon unfurling as he turns towards the voice, quirk ready to be used.
It's... a boy. A young boy, still a few years away from being able to apply to UA, which makes the form of address all the more baffling. He has messy green hair and bright green eyes, which shine in excitement as he makes his way from the entrance to the roof.
"Hi, sensei," the boy repeats. Then curls his shoulders sheepishly. "I got hit with a time travelling quirk, and I'm not really sure how to get out of it?"
Shouta finds himself sighing, capture weapon going slack as he pinches the bridge of his nose.

Word Count: 5,000
Summary:
There was no power in the universe that could have made Izuku attend the reception. He was just about to try and unobtrusively retreat when he felt the novel sensation of someone smacking a cane into the back of his shins. The power behind that strike had nearly sent him to his knees.
"So!" It was the old man who decided to confront Izuku. "Midoriya Izuku. What brings you here?"
Izuku was only moderately surprised that the man knew his name. It wasn't so odd that someone would recognize him; He had been an activist for various causes — most notably advocating for the Quirkless — for the last decade. Nothing that made him famous famous, but known enough in certain circles.
"I received an invitation," he offered.
The man scoffed at that. "So now you deign to respond to your mail?"

Title: hear me echo in the waves
Author: yamadadzawa (liarielle)
Pairing: None
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Word Count: 5,070
Summary:
Izuku steps into the circle and picks up the ball, fighting a swell of dizziness when the waves suddenly settle, calm and quiet. The sun, in turn, seeps into his arm with a burning heat that has him clenching the ball tight in his hand. Then, it recedes, and sinks back into his chest, where it expands slowly until it spreads through his whole body.
Wait. Wait.
Oh!
“I…I get it,” Izuku whispers, lips curling into a wobbly smile. “Spread it out.”
Izuku adjusts his stance, bracing himself as he cocks his arm back and draws on One for All, on the sun inside his chest. Searing heat responds, flooding through his body instead of just to his arm. Izuku grits his teeth, grimacing against the burn and the pressure building under his skin. He takes a deep breath, and—
Empty. He’s empty, yanked violently back into his skin but he’s empty and alone, the waves are gone, the sun is gone.
or
A glimpse at how the quirk assessment test could have gone if One for All was a lot more sentient and intertwined with Izuku.

“Can you stop with your vigilante crusade?" He says. Izuku blinks, but that's as far as he gets. “The old farts think I'm behind it, and won't get off my ass about stopping it.”
“I'm… sorry?" Izuku offers. He's taken to wearing his mask and hood up, but maybe… He uncovers his face. “Would this help?"
He catches the way the boy's eyes widen in surprise before he manages to school his expression again.
“They'll just think I'm dying my hair or something," he grumbles, stuffing hands into the pockets of his jacket.

Summary:
His calcifying heart twinged at the thought of Cid.
'Do you see, Cid?' he thought as his vision failed like the rest of his broken body, the curse creeping over his flesh like the malignant thing it was. 'It’s done. I did it for you, for everyone. I just wish you could see it.'
The water lapped around him, under him, lifting him off the damp sand slightly, his heart beat struggling in a chest turning rapidly to stone.
'He knows, Mythos,' a voice he didn’t recognise echoed in his head, though he felt like he should, soothing, gentle like the waves lifting him. Then; 'quickly, quickly, we have but a moment.'
NOW! Another voice rumbled, this one familiar, urgent.
